About

Gloriously optimistic yet realistic. Striving to do good design and make an impact.

Welcome!

My name is Phume (pronounced Pumi) and I’m a Senior Service Designer and Qualitative UX Researcher based in New York. I spent several years improving experiences working for software companies, small startups, non-profits, and consulting firms including Autodesk, Nava PBC, Catapult Design, and the NYC Mayor’s Office For Economic Opportunity Service Design Studio. My background has given me a number of expertise including UX consulting, qualitative and quantitative UX research, data-driven service design strategies, strategic business thinking, visual and product design. Loving to collaborate and facilitate I also became a certified Human-Centered Design facilitator through the LUMA Institute. Inspired by people and the environment we live in, I am multi-disciplinary in my approach, believing accessibility and equity should always be prioritized.

In my spare time I love engaging and empowering youth, reading books on Afrofuturism and Psychology, listening to podcasts, and engaging in my local community.

I’m always up for a good conversation about research, design, people, and my work.

Feel free to reach out.
